We were all in good spirits at last night’s Public Affairs Cymru annual dinner and enjoyed the company of some very special guests: Ffion Davies from EDF Renewables UK, Will Hayward, Non Tudur Williams, Meilyr Ceredig, Kate Mitchell and Ioan Phillips.
Public Affairs Cymru, commonly referred to as PAC, is a volunteer-run membership organisation for public affairs professionals in Wales. Members come from a variety of different sectors with the common aim of ensuring that public affairs and lobbying activities are undertaken professionally and responsibly. Cadno are one of PAC’s 150 members and are proud to have adopted their Code of Conduct, believing that good conduct in public affairs and lobbying is essential to a healthy and functioning democracy in Wales.
The PAC Annual Dinner is a great event, bringing together so many faces in various public affairs sectors in Wales as well as people working in and around Welsh politics. We had so many interesting and important conversations on our table, which hosted esteemed guests from diverse backgrounds including journalism, renewable energy, communications, politics and public affairs. It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with and meet many others from different backgrounds and to gather and share ideas for the benefit of the industry as a whole.
This year we were joined by Mark Drakeford MS, who delivered fascinating address reflecting on his long and distinguished time in public service. The former First Minister was clear about the important role of public affairs in informing and shaping policy and felt that an enlarged Senedd in 2026 would provide more opportunities to engage and lead to better governance.
