Today was the final Senedd Cross Party Group on Renewable & Low Carbon Energy for this session, and it has been an honour to act as the secretariat, supporting RenewableUK Cymru and encouraging dialogue between industry and policy makers.
Since our first meeting in November 2021, we’ve hosted 13 meetings where our membership of over 100 has heard from over 20 speakers, including Welsh Government ministers and experts from across the UK, discussing topics spanning…geopolitics, climate policy, Ofgem’s future plans, grid investment, Welsh renewable targets, planning and legislation, skills and workforce development, renewable consents, aviation and radar impacts and much, much more….
Heartfelt thanks to all contributors and to our members for their participation and expertise. Thanks to all the MSs and their staff who attended for making the time. A very special thanks to our chair Delyth Jewell who has brought knowledge and gravitas, and importantly humour and warmth, to every meeting.
As the sixth Senedd enters the final few weeks, we wish all CPG member MSs who are standing for re-election the best of luck.
We hope to be back later in the year as the Seventh Senedd gears up with more MSs, a new government and a whole set of fresh challenges. See you on the other side!
